Meet the Innovation Health Leadership Team
Chief Executive Officer
David Notari, Chief Executive Officer, accepted this leadership position for Innovation Health in November 2013. Dave is responsible for setting the strategic direction for Innovation Health and positioning the company for success.
Prior to assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer at Innovation Health, David was National Head of Distribution and Channel Management for Small Group and Individual segments at Aetna. In this role, David led Aetna’s initiatives and strategies to enhance growth in these business segments. He was responsible for the development and execution of overall channel management and distribution strategy as well as serving as the executive sponsor of a number of key strategic initiatives.
David is a respected health care leader with over twenty-five years of experience building and turning around sales and marketing organizations, ranging in size, with up to $1.8 billion in revenue. He has a proven record of consistently exceeding aggressive growth targets through detailed planning and execution for managed care, individual and ancillary benefits.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Marketing from Montclair State University.
Nannette G. Henderson
Chief Financial Officer
Nannette Henderson, Chief Financial Officer, accepted her leadership position with Innovation Heath in May 2013 and is responsible for financial activities in support of the new partnership between Aetna and Inova.
Prior to joining Innovation Health, she was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of NYLCare Health Plans of the Mid-Atlantic for 13 years. In that position, she was responsible for all finance, underwriting, human resources and information technology functions. Her time there included an election by her peers as the President of the Maryland Association of Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), where she represented the Maryland HMOs on a variety of issues throughout the state. After leaving NYLCare, Nannette accepted the founding Chief Financial Officer position with Digital Insurance, where she served in that position until 2001 when she left the workforce to stay at home and raise her four daughters.
While a stay at home mother, Nannette provided accounting and consulting services to a wide variety of small businesses and non-profits, including tax and regulatory filings related to starting nonprofit tax exempt organizations in Virginia. She is also heavily involved as a Board member in the parent teacher organizations of her children's schools and is an active volunteer in their various sports and extracurricular activities. Nannette has received numerous awards for her volunteer work in recognition for her commitment to the well-being of children and educational advocacy.
Amy K. Turner
Executive Director, Chief Operations Officer
Amy Turner, Executive Director, joined Innovation Health in July 2014. In this role, Amy is responsible for implementing new strategic initiatives, products, and networks. In addition, Amy oversees sales and account management activities along with the ongoing operations of the company. Amy will ensure Innovation Health continues to transform the health care landscape for Northern Virginia individuals and businesses.
Amy began her career at Aetna, and has over 14 years of experience in health plan administration. Most recently Amy was Director of Client Services for Aetna’s Capitol Market, where she led a team of highly seasoned and established account managers who served large group customers. Amy also served as Aetna’s Network Market Head for Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Along with Amy’s extensive health plan experience, Amy also worked at Inova Health System as Senior Director of Network Development.
Amy earned a Masters of Business Administration from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Professional Studies from The University of Hawaii.
Sunil Budhrani, MD, MPH, MBA
Chief Medical Officer, Chief Medical Informatics Officer
Dr. Sunil Budhrani, a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physcian, joined Innovation Health in May 2016 as Chief Medical Officer and Chief Medical Informatics Officer. In this role, he’ll help ensure Northern Virginia residents have access to quality, cost-effective health coverage.
Most recently Sunil co-founded CareClix Telemedicine, a pioneer in remote patient monitoring and telemedicine technologies. At the same time, he served as Co-Chair of the American Telemedicine Association's Guidelines Committee for Practice of Primary Care and Urgent Care Telemedicine. And throughout his career, he’s authored many papers on telemedicine and speaks nationally about reducing hospital readmissions and employing telemedicine in medical practices.
Previously, as Chief Medical Officer for Evergreen Health Care, he led the clinical course for medical technology, network development, member engagement and population health. After completing his residency training in Emergency Medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine, he served as Chariman and directed Emergency Departments and Urgent Care Centers on the east coast for more than a decade.
Sunil earned his Medical and a Master’s degree in Public Health from George Washington University. He also earned Bachelor of Arts degrees with honors in Neuroscience and English from the University of Pennsylvania.
